If you’re looking for a Minneapolis-area wedding venue that’s beautiful, easy for your guests, and doesn’t make your wedding day unnecessarily complicated, The Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center checks a LOT of boxes.


I’ve photographed weddings here, and there are so many little things about this venue that just make the day easier. And as someone who spends a whole lot of wedding days watching timelines, wrangling family photos, finding good light, and making sure we’re where we need to be, I appreciate a venue that makes my job easier too.

Let’s start with something that isn’t particularly glamorous but matters way more than people think: parking.


There’s plenty of it.


Your guests aren’t hunting for street parking, walking six blocks in heels, or figuring out where the heck they left their car at the end of the night.


Even better, Embassy Suites Minneapolis North is right next door. And I mean right next door. The hotel and Heritage Center are connected, so your guests can leave the reception and head back to their rooms without even going outside.


That is especially amazing for Minnesota weddings when the weather decides to do whatever the hell it wants.


It also means everyone can enjoy the reception without worrying about a long drive back to their hotel afterward.

 


There’s a Space for Just About Every Kind of Wedding


One of my favorite things about The Heritage Center is that it doesn't feel like there's only one way to have a wedding here.


There are different spaces depending on the size and feel of your day, including their beautiful courtyard and garden areas. You can go classic and elegant, keep things smaller and more intimate, or fill the place with all of your favorite people.


And because you have options for both indoor and outdoor spaces, you aren't putting your entire wedding day in the hands of the Minnesota weather forecast.

Which is always a win.

 

 

You Can Actually Make It Feel Like Your Wedding

 

Some venues have such a specific look that your wedding can start feeling like every other wedding held there.


Heritage Center gives you more room to make the space your own.

Bring in your flowers, signs, candles, personal details, funky little touches, or whatever else feels like the two of you. You can keep things simple or completely transform the space.


Either way, you aren't fighting against the venue.

The Getting Ready Spaces Are Actually Useful



This is another thing couples don't always think about when touring venues.


Where are you actually going to get ready?


Is there enough room for your people, bags, dresses, suits, makeup, food, flowers and the approximately 4,000 random things that somehow appear on a wedding morning?


The Heritage Center has roomy prep spaces that make the beginning of the day so much easier.


And from a photography standpoint, having everyone in one place instead of bouncing between multiple locations can make your timeline SO much smoother.


The team here is also fantastic. Conner, Stacy, and the Heritage Center crew know weddings, and that makes a difference when you're in the middle of an actual wedding day instead of just touring the venue months beforehand.

And Yes, There Are Plenty of Great Photo Spots


Obviously I have to talk about the photos. There are a ton of options without needing to leave the property.


The courtyard and landscaped areas are great for first looks, wedding party photos, family photos and portraits. There are also indoor options when the weather isn't cooperating.


Then later in the evening, we can sneak away for a few portraits when the light gets good before heading right back to the party.


Less driving around means more time actually enjoying your wedding.


And I am ALWAYS in favor of that.
